With a career spanning more than 20 years in the media industry, Marco Godles stands as a trailblazer in the field of drone operations and aerial cinematography.

For nearly twelve years, he served as the co-founder and CTO of KopterCam, based in Finland, one of Europe's most recognised names in cinematic drone production. What began as a fascination with flight and image-making grew into a full-fledged production and technology company that bridged creative vision with precise engineering. Marco led the company's technical and operational direction, designing custom aerial systems long before the tools now taken for granted existed, from early GoPro rigs to advanced multi-rotor platforms carrying ARRI, RED, and SONY cameras. Every build was a blend of invention, safety, and reliability. Over the years, KopterCam worked on global productions for Netflix, Porsche, National Geographic, 20th Century Fox, Google, BBC, Yash Raj Films, and Red Bull, helping shape the visual language of aerial storytelling during a decade that defined the industry.

After relocating to the UAE, Marco spent two years as Senior Drone Pilot at Choppershoot in Dubai, where he led aerial operations for commercial projects, live events, and government productions across the region. Much of this work centred on high-profile, mission-critical shoots, including national ceremonies, military operations, and royal events, where discretion, preparation, and flawless execution were essential. He worked directly with producers, agencies, and clients to translate complex logistical requirements into clear, safe, and efficient flight plans.

Presently, Marco works with Base Films and Go Aerials in the UAE, continuing to push the boundaries of aerial cinematography across feature films, commercials, documentaries, and broadcast productions in the Middle East and beyond.

Marco possesses extensive technical expertise in cinema camera systems from top industry leaders such as ARRI, RED, and SONY. His experience includes serving as a camera technician and operations specialist for SHOTOVER F1/G1, Freefly MōVI Pro, and DJI drone and gimbal systems.

Celebrated for his ability to bring directors' visions to life, Marco is known for exceptional communication, professionalism, and a mastery of intricate drone manoeuvres across more than 30 countries worldwide. Marco's recent projects have involved advancing his expertise in virtual production studio workflows and developing high-resolution multi-camera array setups for both vehicles and drones.
